What Should the Seat of a Motorized Relax Armchair Be Like?

The core of the relax armchair for seniors and users with disabilities is its seat. Since the seat is responsible for supporting the body’s weight, it is essential that it offers uniform distribution over a wide surface, thus ensuring a high and correct level of comfort.

The core of the relax armchair for seniors and users with disabilities is its seat.

Since the seat is responsible for supporting body weight, it is essential that it offers uniform distribution over a wide surface, thus ensuring a high and correct level of comfort.

The structure of the seat is of fundamental importance; therefore, we at La Castellana have developed a seating system divided into three levels of cushioning.

Within our reclining and motorized relax armchairs, the seat is structured in three distinct layers: the first layer consists of a sturdy steel frame integrated with serpentine springs; the second layer is a cushion of coated pocket springs, enclosed between two sheets of felt and expanded polyurethane; finally, the third layer, positioned on top, is a 3 cm thick sheet of expanded polyurethane.

This system guarantees an optimal distribution of body weight over a wide surface, ensuring superior comfort. It is important to emphasize that this three-level cushioning system is one-of-a-kind and is not present in any other relax lift chair on the competing market.
